Our luxury lodge accommodation in Taupo is elegantly furnished with antique oak furniture and seagrass leather lounge suites. Each villa has two bedrooms with en suites, large living/dining areas, plus beautifully-appointed kitchen and full laundry.

The living and dining areas of our luxury Lake Taupo accommodation lead onto private decks and terraces, and large bedrooms open into glorious Italian travertine stone and double-glazed glass bathrooms. These give an exhilarating sense of showering or bathing outdoors in the seclusion of the New Zealand native bush.

The kitchens of our luxury lodge accommodation in Taupo are fitted with the finest European appliances. They will delight the keenest culinary guest. Delicious breakfast provisions are provided and the pantries are filled with all the basics for baking.

Villa One – Entry to Villa One is down through the solid exterior wall to a large living room that opens completely to the sun, lake and out onto decks perched in the treetops. The spacious bedrooms and bathrooms are positioned on either side of the living area to open to the trees and bay beyond.

A 12 x 3 metre lap pool (heated in season) is situated along the front of Villa One's deck. The international award winning Magna Pool is the first of its kind – providing guests with superior water. It uses a blend of Magnesium and Potassium minerals, which are beneficial for your health.

Villa Two – Villa Two has a large living room that opens up to an outdoor terraced and lawn living area, swimming pool and native trees. The bedroom and en suite on the main floor enjoys afternoon sun and lake views, while the upstairs bedroom has glimpses of the mountains in one direction and lake views in the other.

Owner of The Point Villas, Peg Bull, has particular attachment to this land. Her grandfather purchased Whakamoenga Point in 1935, and the development of the estate represents three generations of family vision.

The Point Villas offer a stunning venue for a wedding and the perfect honeymoon accommodation.

About the Taupo Region

Whakamoenga Point is steeped in history. Huge totara logs, relics of Taupo's massive 860 AD volcanic eruption, are still found near the harbour entrance.

The historic Okutu Pa is sited here, as is a substantial cave which has yielded evidence of Maori occupation. Modern Maori carvings, which were completed in the 1970's, represent a link with the past and have become a major tourist attraction.

The Maori carvings are only a two-minute trip from the villas by kayak. Two are provided for guest use.

Alternatively, guests may be collected from The Point Harbour by commercial launches to view the carvings and historic sites, or for fishing excursions to the beautiful waters of the Western Bays.
