Active New Zealand offer a variety of fully guided, small group, hiking, paddling and biking adventure trips through New Zealand's wildest locations.
We'll take you around our beautiful country where you'll undertake a wide range of outdoor activities, meet the locals, eat well, and sleep well.
Maybe you'll push yourself a little, or a lot, hiking with our guides and a few like-minded travellers on a three-day backpacking adventure into the wilderness of Nelson Lakes National Park, or cycling or sea kayaking in and around Queen Charlotte Sound. We offer a number of different New Zealand adventure tours so you can choose the best one for you.
We'll minimize the time spent in a vehicle, and spend it on adventure and relaxation. We'll stay in comfortable lodges in some fantastic locations—and we'll do all this at a reasonable price.
Our New Zealand adventure tours are designed for active people with a reasonable level of fitness and interest in outdoor activities. If you like to walk, run, hike, paddle, cycle, or go to the gym, you'll love our New Zealand hiking, biking and kayaking trips.
Rimu – Our 14 day Rimu trip is our most active New Zealand adventure tour, packed with hiking, biking, sea kayaking and other great options for you too.
We also run a Winter Rimu as well which includes a hike to some natural hot pools nestled in an isolated valley in the Southern Alps!
Manuka – Our 14 day Manuka adventure tour of New Zealand is a more relaxed trip, and includes hiking the legendary Milford Track.
Tui – Our eight day Tui adventure trip is designed to give you a quick blast through the South Island if you're short of time but would still like to hike, bike, sea kayak and spend some time in the wilderness.
Weka Cycling – The 13 day Weka Cycling trip is for keen cyclists who want to explore some of the South Island's most remote and spectacular roads, and includes the best parts of the Central Otago Rail Trail.
Kea Family – Our 13 day Kea Family trip is designed to be a lot of active fun for the whole family, from jet boating to hiking near Mt Cook to exploring a real Kiwi sheep farm.
Kauri – Our five day Kauri adventure trip is an excellent way to see the highlights of the North Island like hiking to the top of a recently erupted volcano—before or after one of the South Island New Zealand adventure tours!
You don't need experience in any of the activities you will undertake on your New Zealand adventure tour—our well-trained guides and top-notch equipment mean that even if you have not been hiking or backpacking before, you'll really enjoy yourself with our hiking, biking and kayaking trips in New Zealand.
Hiking in the national parks of New Zealand is simply stunning, and we hike in some of the most pristine and secluded areas of New Zealand. The sea kayaking on our New Zealand adventure tours is suitable for absolute beginners as well as seasoned veterans, and you can choose to cycle all day or not at all!
