Kawau Island Accommodation
Kawau Island is a stunning island in the Hauraki Gulf a mere 1.4 kilometres from the main land and about 40 kilometres from Auckland. One of the main attractions on the island is the Mansion House in the Kawau Island Historic Reserve. The island has a small resident population of around 70 people of whom most have direct access to the sea with private wharves from their front door steps.

We are truly privileged to live here, we love providing accommodation and sharing this place with our guests. Rakautata loosely translates to 'standing trees' and the native New Zealand bush that provides a backdrop to our B & B is truly beautiful – full of native birds. We provide two large sunny rooms each have a Queen-sized bed and tiled ensuite.
