Opononi
Opononi is a beach settlement in Hokianga Harbour, in the Northland region. Opononi gained its fame in the mid-1950s from the tame dolphin Opo, who let children ride on her back. Catch a water taxi from Opononi Wharf to giant sand dunes where you can go dune surfing or walk to amazing sandstone formations. more
