Blue Chip New Zealand Open 2006, Auckland Golf Open
The 89th Blue Chip New Zealand Open runs from 30 November to 3 December 2006. Co-sanctioned with the Australasian and European Tours, the Blue Chip New Zealand Open will be staged at the Gulf Harbour Country Club.

The Blue Chip New Zealand Open is one of the largest annual sporting events in New Zealand, showcasing golf at the highest level to New Zealand. Broadcast to more than 111 million homes worldwide, this New Zealand golf tournament is a fantastic opportunity to promote New Zealand to the world.
Some of the world's top players have been confirmed for New Zealand's premier golf tournament, including Simon Dyson, Nick Dougherty and Richard Green. New Zealand's favourite participant will undoubtedly be our very own Michael Cambell, currently ranked 27th in the world. Campbell won the New Zealand Open in 2000. In 2005, he won the US Open and was named European Tour Golfer of the Year.

17 November, Friday - Regional Qualifying
- Manor Park Golf Club - Wellington
- Christchurch Golf Club - Christchurch
- Pupuke Golf Club - North Harbour
- Manukau Golf Club - Auckland
30 players from the regional qualifying event will go through to the final qualifying event. The remaining spots are reserved for full members of the Australasian and European PGA Tours.
27 November, Monday - Final Qualifying
- Manukau Golf Club - Auckland
It is expected that a field of up to 144 will be competing for the eight spots available to go through and compete in the Blue Chip New Zealand Open.
30 November, Thursday - Competition Start
- Gulf Harbour Country Club - Auckland
This is an excellent opportunity to see some of the world's top golfers, competing in New Zealand's premier golfing tournament. The 1.5-million NZD purse is the biggest prize ever offered in New Zealand and is one of the biggest in the southern hemisphere.
