World of WearableArt Awards Show
From its humble beginnings in 1987 in the rural town of Nelson, New Zealand, the annual World of WearableArt (WOW) Awards Show is now performed in Wellington (the capital of New Zealand). An annual fixture on the cultural calendar, the WOW Awards Show is experienced by around 60,000 people, over a three week show season. The show runs for about approximately two hours and would have great appeal for fans of Cirque du Soleil, as it showcases not only fashion and art, but theatre, lighting, music and dance. It presents extraordinary entries of WearableArt on stage in a theatrical spectacular; the creative visions of designers from across New Zealand and overseas, who embrace the opportunity to let their imaginations run wild.
In 2020, Show Director Malia Johnston is back, teaming up with more creatives and guest artists than ever before who are crafting a show which will be a true explosion of multiple artforms.
Experience an extraordinary and magical night out in Wellington, stepping into a world where art and the human form combine, where dance, music and lighting tell the story of the body as a canvas, where the lines of fashion and art blur and merge as one.
This year, enter another world and lose yourself in the unmissable 2020 WOW Show.
