Abel Tasman Kayaks Introduction
Abel Tasman Kayaks offers kayaking in the Abel Tasman National Park.
Sea kayaking is such a unique, low impact way to explore the beautiful golden beaches, peaceful coves and lagoons, offshore islands, wildlife and the native forest fringing our granite coastline!
This innovation became an instant hit with visitors to the area, and saw the growth and development of Abel Tasman Kayaks into one of the leading kayak operations in the world.
Over the years we have merged Kiwi Kayaks and Southern Exposure into our business. We have continued to lead the way with a strong commitment to high safety standards and experienced guides with incredible passion and extensive local knowledge of the park. As the owner of Abel Tasman Kayaks, I feel privileged to have our team introduce this beautiful place that we call home. Enjoy.
About Abel Tasman Kayaks
Abel Tasman Kayaks was established in 1986, realising a vision to bring visitors into the glorious Abel Tasman National Park. We offer a wide range of tours from half day all the way to 5 day adventure tours.
Our purpose built kayak base is ideally placed for you to begin your kayaking adventure. We have the best facilities in the park (hot showers onsite, toilets, secure parking and lock up for personal belongings, purpose built transfer vehicles to get you and your kayaks to the water's edge regardless of weather or tide). Established in 1986 we are the oldest guided kayaking company and specialise in kayak hire.

Abel Tasman Kayak Rentals
If you are looking to explore the spectacular sights of the Abel Tasman National Park, but don't like the idea of joining a guided trip, then a kayak rental is perfect for you!
For rentals of two days or more, we use Paddling Perfection double fibreglass kayaks with a built-in rudder system. These purpose-built boats have 3 water-tight chambers for gear storage (approximately 300 litres). Specially designed for expedition paddling, these kayaks are stable, comfortable and fast.
For 1 day rentals, we use Dobbe Eco-Niizhdouble kayaks. These plastic moulded kayaks have three hatches, the middle being a watertight centre "pod" for gear storage (approximately 80 litres). With a built-in rudder system, these stable kayaks are perfect for one day trips, or shorter multi-day adventures.
