Great Barrier Island Beach and Coastal
Great Barrier Island is one of New Zealand’s largest offshore islands and offers a picturesque and remote getaway 100 kilometres from Auckland. Great Barrier Island as a population of about 1,000 people and is an ideal holiday destination and superb for hiking. Today about 60% of the island is administered by the Department of Conservation and much of the island is mountainous with regenerating forests – including the famous Kauri trees.
