Glenorchy Skiing and Snowboarding

Glenorchy is a small settlement on the northern end of Lake Wakatipu about 40km from its well-known neighbour, Queenstown. Founded by Scheelite miners in 1862, this township has a general store, country pub and several places to stay. Here visitors can enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery in New Zealand in a location much sought after by the film industry (Narnia trilogy, Wolverine and The Lord of the Rings).
