EGMONT NATIONAL PARK - Taranaki (North Island)
Egmont National Park is one of the most accessible national parks in the country. Situated on the western coast of the North Island, its nearest towns are New Plymouth, Inglewood, Stratford and Opunake. Mt Egmont (Mt Taranaki) is the volcano that sits roughly in the middle of the park while waterfalls, rainforests and mossy swamps abound.
