Impact on busses on South Island

Hello!I would like to visit NZ in February, do I have to deal with any irregularities if I travel by bus or train?I saw the pictures of the devestation the earthquake did to the coastal road near Kaikoura.I am a backpacker and therefore have to use public transport.Thank you for help!Bina

You will still be able to bus around New Zealand, you just wont be able to train from Blenheim to Christchurch at this stage.
