Can someone help me decide if it's best to hire a car of camper van? What are the pros and con's of each? Thank you very much!

Cost may be an important thing to consider. You might want to look at accommodation prices verses campsites for your camper van. Plus the cost of hiring the camper, verses a car and how much petrol they will use. A car is easier to drive and park over a camper van, but a camper van means you are not constantly packing and unpacking your car at each destination. Your camper van may have cooking facilities in it, which is convenient. There will be many more pros and cons of each, but hopefully this has given you some where to start.
