Driving rental cars

I, aged 19, intend to travel to NZ with my family in May. My father will be renting a car to drive within the country. Even though the minimum age for renting a car is 21, can I drive the same rental car?I own a valid license in my country, date of issue of license being 29th July 2016.

At 19 you can drive a car in New Zealand with a current licence, but you will just need to check the conditions with your rental car company.
