Bed and Breakfast accommodation

I am a 71 year old Scottish mother and grandmother. My son lives in Green Bay , Auckland in a small house and I want to stay nearby from 24 Dec to 2 Jan 2018. Is there a small reasonably cheap motel, guest house or othe place where I could stay close by for those nights. I can be nearby but give him and his family space.
