Tongariru in the winter
(Ruapehu - Tongariro Alpine Crossing - Tramping, Hiking, Guided Walks)
Looking for a guide for Tongariru. I am open to what can be done from a day walk to three nights obviously I understand weather permitting. Private guide for me would be perfect or maybe a small group, I really enjoy solo walking normally with my tent, the snorers get me in the huts :) I have not done alpine in the winter hence my erring on the safety side and looking for a local guide. I assume tents are not the go in September so earplugs I guess, are there likely to be many trampers?Thanks for your help.Terry
