Is it possible and reasonable to travel by car from Queenstown to Auckland in 4 days? Day one Queenstown to Christchurch. Day two Christchurch to Picton, via Kaikoura. Day three, Ferry to Picton to Wellington. Day four Wellington to Auckland. Also, has the road from Kaikoura to Blenheim/Picton been repaired?

Yes it is possible and reasonable, but it will be a lot of driving and doesn't allow you time to enjoy each place. The road is currently still closed, but hopefully open by Christmas time. You can check for updates here: http://www.journeys.nzta.govt.nz/traffic/roadclosures/153593
