Visiting NZ August 30-September 16, 2018
(Canterbury - Weather)
Good day,We plan to do a car tour of South Island September 10-13; our plan is to drive from Christchurch to Haast Pass, drive north to Greymouth, and then take Author's Pass back to Christchurch. My questions are as follows:1. Is this a reason drive assuming we leave Christchurch around 10am on September 10 and return to Christchurch around 3 pm on September 13?2. Will we likely encounter snow on any part of this drive, especially on Author's Pass?

Hi, you're looking at 14 hours of driving time, so yes, you could fit it in those three days. As for snow, it will be winter so there is a chance of snow being on parts of the journey. Closer to the time, visit this website for road snowfall warnings.
