Driving an RV from north to south island june 2019

Hello, my daughter and myself are visiting NZ for the first time in June 2019, we are renting an RV in Auckland and driving south, dropping it off in Christchurch, we plan to drive down the west coast then cut across via Arthurs pass back to christchurch, the RV is 23 ft, do you think this drive or route would be too risky in an RV in mid June? we are hoping not :) thank you in advance! cant wait to see your beautiful country

Provided you abide by New Zealand's road rules, you should be able to travel safely, and without incident.
Occasionally, some mountain passes do close for short periods during winter, due to snow or ice. If that happens, you will simply have to park up until the road opens, or travel via an alternative route.
The key points to remember for driving safely in New Zealand are: We drive on the left (KEEP LEFT), and NEVER attempt to pass on Double Yellow Lines, or if the Yellow line is on your side of the road.
