Nelson public holiday period

Hi,Some friends and I are finishing up the Heaphy track on 01/01/17. I understand the 2nd and 3rd of January are public holidays and we're wondering if there will be any supermarkets, restaurants, pubs etc open on the 1/1, or if we're better off finishing out hike on 2/1 because more will be open.We would have been hiking for five days so wouldn't mind a pub mean at the end of it.Thanks

Hi, all the shops, restaurants etc will be open on the 01/01/17. So you will able to have that well deserved cold beverage :)
