The Moeraki Boulders are a group of very large spherical “stones” on Koekohe Beach near Moeraki on New Zealand’s Otago coast. These boulders are actually concretions that have been exposed through shoreline erosion from coastal cliffs that back the beach. The Boulders are one of the most fascinating and popular attractions on the South Island.
Mobile-friendly - Situated above the boat harbour in the picturesque village of Moeraki, 40 kilometres south of Oamaru. Our motels are modern with great sea views and reasonable prices. We also have three self-contained tourist flats, three standard cabins, 28 power sites and 30 tent sites. Moeraki is a great place for fishing, boating, walking and observing wildlife.
