The Huka Falls are an impressive set of waterfalls along the Waikato River and a popular tourist attraction. In fact, it is the most visited and photographed natural attraction in New Zealand! Located a short distance north of Taupo Town, in the Taupo region, the thundering Huka Falls is 11 metres high, flowing with enough water to fill one Olympic sized swimming pool in 11 seconds! more
Huka means foam in Maori and you will understand why it’s called the Huka Falls when you get there. The amazing, crystal clear blue waters will definitely take your breath away. There are a few viewing platforms around the Huka Falls which allows you to take in the mighty falls from all angles.
The Huka Falls is also accessible via a walking or biking track from Spa Park.
