Skippers Canyon is an historic and scenic gorge about 22 kilometres in length, located approximately 20 kilometres north of Queenstown. The Shotover River which flows through the canyon was once a very rich gold-mining river, but today the gorge is used for a wide range of adventure tourism activities, including jet boating the Shotover River through the canyon, 4x4ing, and bungy jumping some 134 metres from a cable car above the canyon! more
